Ande ka funda -Myth around egg yolk

Egg yolk causes cholesterol-Busting the myth

I have been following quantified nutrition for a while now and most of my meals comprise of egg yolks .The number of eggs that i eat in day raises lot of eyebrows with a concern of me dying of heart attack.

Before we jump into the fact vs myth, i would like to mention the benefit of cholesterol.
Cholesterol has several function in body  including sustaining  lot of hormones .It help in producing bile ,it component of cell structure ,its a precursor of Vitamin -D.Its required for brain health and nervous system .
Human body is very smart .It is  capable of making all the required cholesterol.. It closely monitors the amount of cholesterol present in the blood. So, if you’re ingesting a lot of dietary cholesterol, the liver makes less of it and vice-versa

Types of cholestrol
LDL (Low Density Lipoprotein):- The  “bad” cholesterol, LDL transports cholesterol to different parts of the body that need it. But,if your body has too much LDL, these can form clogs inside your arteries and lead to heart attacks.

HDL (High Density Lipoprotein):- The “good“cholesterol, HDL carries the unused cholesterol from different parts of your body back to the liver.

Cholesterol has been made the villain for the cardio vascular disease which is not true. While considering the cholesterol level one should consider ratio between HD (good ) and LDL(Bad) .

1 Egg white has 3.5 gm of protein .1 egg has 6 gm of protein .Cholesterol in egg is Dietary cholesterol and not  the cholesterol in your blood.
Egg yolk help in reducing LDL .Risk to your heart is from trans fat and excessive sugar .stop blaming the Egg.

Yolk contains calcium ,iron ,phosphorus, zinc ,thiamine ,vitamin B6,folate,vitamin B12,It covers all the fat soluble vitamins (A,D,E ,K) and omega 3 too .

Foods high in dietary cholesterol hardly have any impact on your blood cholesterol levels. So Sunday ho ya Monday ,Garmi ho ya sardi roz khao ande  .

Quantified nutrition and exercise are the key to good health .
